Look what Punky Found: Local Calligraphy

As a small business, I love supporting other small businesses...especially those around my community [Punky Jane is located just outside Sacramento]. While browsing Etsy using the Shop Local feature, I found CalligraphybyHillary, a Sacramento based calligrapher.

She does invitations, envelope addressing (for all kinds of events), address stamps, and custom maps. You can see the various 'styles' she can do, here. All her styles are wonderful, but I love the San Francisco and Chicago styles.

With no fancy invitation worthy events coming up, it would be fun to have her hand letter a special quote.

Calling All Wordsmiths!

Have you heard? Hasbro is letting fans choose the next word to be added to the Merriam-Webster’s Official SCRABBLE Players Dictionary. Pretty exciting when it hasn't been updated in 9 years!

It's all taking place on the Hasboro Game Night Facebook page via their Scrabble Word Showdown. Some of my favorite suggestions are: ew, photobomb, and emoji. It's fun just reading some of the suggestions!

Be sure to get your word (or words) in by March 28th. On April 2nd Hasbro will reveal 16 finalists and let people vote for their favorite. The winning word will be announced on April 10th, but the revised dictionary won't come out till August.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Theodor Seuss Giesel aka Dr. Seuss was born March 2, 1904. Let's celebrate his birthday and our love of reading!

The National Education Association's Read Across America Day, a national event held in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday, is Monday, March 3rd this year.

I say, let's celebrate for two days!
